Men's collection Fall/Winter 09/10
Today we’ll start working with live models.
Observe the nudes before you: admire their graceful poses, study their perfect proportions, and try to paint them.
Remember that in art, as in life, there is a need for classicism, a feel for proportions, and a taste for the unexpected.
Therefore, always start out with refined classicism and proceed with original details and, shall we say, artistic flair.
Imagine wearing formal suits but wildly barefoot, or 100% cashmere sweaters with frayed cuffs, like more authentic vintage garb.
But don’t be hasty: you can only proceed after closely studying the essence of nudity. Therefore, focus on volumes.
Be eclectic and sophisticated! Don’t make do with a jacket: raise it up over your head and make a hood, creating an unusual A-line shape. Don’t stop with a hat: play with volumes and exaggerate proportions.
Once you’ve acquired a flair for design, you’ll see that you can freely use corduroy in any direction. Meanwhile, let plaids and tie prints uninhibitedly range in size and color.
Finally, the time has come to use colors artistically. Work on chromatic combinations that are often bold, sometimes soft, and always in harmony with the different materials.
Well, that’s all for today. Thank you and see you at the next lesson.
