The Vogue Fashion Night Out 2009 has been a project planned and organised by Vogue with the support of the Milan City Council. On Thursday, 10th September 2009, shops in the city centre remained open until late and organised initiatives and special events.
Frankie Morello took part in the initiative with the sale of a limited-edition T-shirt, numbered progressively and made specially for the event.
The design of the T-shirt was done in collaboration with the Orticanoodles, Milanese street-artists, who, starting with pictures of the two designers’ faces, created posters with which the boutique was papered.
During the event, two huge photographs and a live painting were produced, drawing in a large crowd eager to collect autographs from the designers.
The link with the Orticanoodles arose from the designers’ passion for street-art with a pop, ironic and teasing element.
The earnings from the evening served to finance a project set up by the Council, “Adopt a tree”, thanks to which a million extra trees were planted in Milan.
